Love it, Love it, Love it!!!

Oh my goodness! I'm having so much fun with this journaling project! It's a year long project that involves weekly challenges to create and ongoing collection of your own artwork. It's been quite a long time since I was REALLY interested in being creative. Which was very disconcerting to me because I LOVE to create! It feels good to have this feeling back. I feel more like ME again.  I'm not the best at it, but I sure am having fun!

Here are a few examples of things I've done in my journal so far:

This challenge was to take an example of someone elses work, and be inspired to create your own version. There is a front part, then when you open it the inspiration piece is on the left, with my version on the right.

This next challenge, was to use an envelope from your mailbox. This is an envelope from Happy Mail that someone sent me. When you flip it up, you see the background is another Happy Mail envelope, with a card from more Happy Mail, and the word "FUN" from yet another Happy Mail piece. 

 This challenge was to paint, draw or collage a bird. I really wasn't sure what to do at first, but then when I found the birds in a magazine, the rest of it sort of fell together quite well! Once again, I was able to incorporate elements that I had received in Happy Mail. I love that!

This is an organizational tip from one of my fellow journal people! I love to cut out things from magazines to use in my collage pieces. I especially love to make words, so i cut out individual letters. This is a way to keep them separate so I can tell what i have and what i don't have! Love it!

And now to ART!

Ok,  I started this blog a long time ago,  and it's been kind of hit and miss.  I've started to delete it several times,  but just can't! So,  here's what I'm going to do!

I'm very much a crafty person.  It's like therapy to me! I love all things crafty,  but am especially drawn to collage,  mixed media,  art journals,  ATC's,  altered art,  altered books, cardmaking, etc.

I recently joined a group on Facebook called "The Documented Life Project". Since I work on this project pretty much every day,  I figured this would be a great place to record my journey in art. I'm even thinking of posting some videos here to show how I do certain things to help others who might be trying to figure it out.

Oh,  I'll probably still post on things non-art related now and then, but probably not much. I'm excited to see how this works out!
